ABB Xiamen Industrial Center Presents a Future of Low Carbon Manufacturing

Recently, ABB Xiamen Industrial Center has taken a key step towards high-quality development, becoming 

a "carbon neutrality" park and a demonstration base for sustainable intelligent manufacturing, and promoting 

China's green and low-carbon transformation. This project adopts an innovative energy regulation system,

integrating the application of new energy generation and energy storage systems, significantly reducing carbon 

emissions and improving energy efficiency, and creating a replicable and scalable low-carbon blueprint.


China strives to reach the peak of carbon dioxide emissions by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2060.

At present, China accounts for more than 28% of the total global manufacturing volume.1 In order to achieve

the goal of carbon neutrality, the low-carbon transformation of China's manufacturing industry is crucial.


ABB Xiamen Industrial Center, covering an area of 425000 square meters and employing 3000 people, is expected to 

reduce carbon emissions by 13400 tons per year by implementing ABB's global "Zero Emissions Vision Plan". 

This project will provide a good demonstration role for global customers and partners,clearly demonstrating how ABB's

intelligent digital technology can turn the vision of decarbonization and emission reduction (indirect electricity emissions) into reality.


ABB Xiamen Industrial Center has advanced production lines for medium and low voltage switchgear and circuit breakers,

achieving 50% green power substitution through the installation of 100000 square meters of rooftop photovoltaics. By utilizing

multi strategy precise and flexible regulation technology, we aim to achieve greater local consumption of clean energy and 

improve energy efficiency through the synergy of source load storage. This smart energy solution is equipped with AI algorithms

for power generation and load forecasting, which predict the situation of power generation and consumption, 

deploy control strategies, and achieve a balance between low-carbon electricity consumption and economic efficiency.


Project Deployment ABB Capability ™ The ZEE600 smart energy management platform precisely regulates the "source network load 

storage" of the park. This platform is connected to energy facilities such as photovoltaic, energy storage, distribution, HVAC, lighting,

and charging stations, achieving optimized energy management for the entire park. Among them, the eStorage smart energy storage cabin

solution covers power distribution and control equipment, and effectively balances photovoltaic fluctuations and improves local photovoltaic

consumption rate through regulation and management with the smart energy management system ZEE600; The constructed DC microgrid 

provides an effective demonstration for the widespread application of optical storage direct flexible technology.


The power system of ABB Xiamen Industrial Center is connected to the virtual power plant platform 

of State Grid Xiamen Power Supply Company, forming a "source load interaction" through the demand side response 

of independent regulation of the energy management system, effectively supporting the construction of a new power system.
